Economies of Scope
Economies of Scope are efficiencies formed by variety. Economies of scope arise when businesses share centralized functions for multiple products. It results in savings gained by producing two or more distinct products, when the cost of doing so is less than that of producing each product separately. Economies of scope thus involve lowering average cost per unit by producing more types of products.
